Man pronounced dead at scene following early-morning incident

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the M40 this morning (Friday 10 February).

The incident happened at around 5.30am on the northbound carriageway between junctions 15 and 16, near Warwick Services.

A white Iveco Daily van and a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) were involved in the crash.

Sadly, the driver of the van, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the HGV was uninjured.

The northbound carriageway of the M40 was closed for several hours while police investigated the scene.

It has since reopened, but there are still some delays in the area.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has any information about it, to come forward.
